Just
published in English, my long work on artificial intelligence.
“This book
is a comprehensive overview, understandable even to those not in the field, of
this recent chapter opened by computer science. The many internet links
scattered throughout the various chapters are a useful and selective way to
allow the reader to quickly delve deeper into topics on artificial
intelligence. The book details the three fundamental conferences that gave rise
to modern artificial intelligence: the first in Dartmouth in 1956, the second
in Ascona (CH) in 2006, and the third in Asilomar (US) in 2017. A chapter
explains the meanings of terms such as Big Data, Machine Learning, Turing Test,
Python, and many others, limiting the description to the necessary aspects to
familiarize oneself with the context. A historical chronology helps to
understand how one must trace back to the beginnings of civilization to reach
the most recent achievements. The text includes 18 important articles recently
published by the author that, on their own, provide a detailed framework of
various known and lesser-known aspects of AI. It all ends with 17 biographies
of the great scientists who have contributed to this subject, starting from
Leibniz and up to today with Tim Barners-Lee.”
