SANTA CLARA 1991 FAMILY VISIT WITH GORDON MOORE

SANTA CLARA 1991 FAMILY VISIT. At the new Intel building just inaugurated in memory of co-founder Robert Noyce who died the previous year at 62. Gordon Moore escorted us through the factory, which was built with a massive investment and is earthquake-resistant beyond the ninth degree, with the help of Japanese engineers as well. Moore confirmed to me the importance of that facility because certain microchips could only be produced in that factory and not in one of their other factories around the world. I realized how critical this was, and remembering it, I understand the reasons for the current chip war. (From the upcoming book "MICROCHIP, I WAS THERE")
